Julien Porret’s 3rd Mini-Concertino is where things start to get tricker for players. It includes parts for Bb and C trumpet with Piano Accompaniment, and is the first time we explore up to the top of the staff with a quicker tempo and more involved rhythms. Porret’s series of 6 Mini-Concertinos is progressive in nature, and this solo starts to increase the range requirement while maintaining moderate rhythmic values like the ones that came before it.

This solo goes from low C to E in the staff. No rhythms beyond an eighth note and a quick allegro tempo.
