Solo de Concours was written by Albert Dupuis to be played by trombone or string bass and piano. As one would expect from a concert solo, this music is virtuosic and exciting.
The range for this piece is between E above the tenor clef staff and Db below the bass clef staff (with the option of the higher octave). There are 32nd note arpeggios played at Maestoso, and large intervals that require flexibility and skill.
