Paul Hindemith wrote his Concert for Trumpet and Bassoon in 1949 originally with string orchestra accompaniment, with this edition for Trumpet and Bassoon with piano reduction coming soon afterwards. The work is beautifully lyrical, light hearted, and very approachable by both performer and audience. Definitely less challenging to audiences than the trumpet sonata (which is available here), this is a seldom heard, but fantastic piece of trumpet repertoire.
