Parker was a highly influential jazz soloist and a leading figure in the development of bebop, characterized by fast tempos, virtuosic technique and advanced harmonies. Parker was a blazingly fast virtuoso, and he introduced revolutionary harmonic ideas including rapid passing chords, new variants of altered chords, and chord substitutions. For the first time at qPress we are able to offer a huge collection of 30 Charlie Parker charts that are playable with any combination of players you have available, from 1 to 4 to more.
This collection includes four books, one for Bb, one in C, one in Eb, and one in Bass Clef. These also include chords for piano or guitar accompaniment, bass lines in bass clef for trombone or tuba, and lead parts with counter melodies in each of the listed keys. With this extremely flexible layout, you can create a combo as small as trumpet and piano, to as big as a full jazz band with trumpets, clarinets, saxophones, trombones, and full rhythm section.
