Couillaud’s Four Etudes in the Form of Duets, or “Quatre Etudes en form de duos”, is a short collection of duets taken from the interval studies of Rabaud, then transcribed, arranged, and harmonized by Couillaud for trombone.
The duets alternate from flowing legato style to fast, rhythmic, articulated style from piece to piece. It alternates from bass clef to tenor clef, and because of its moderate difficulty, is a great resource for players who want to continue working on their multiple clef reading while playing in partnership with a colleague.
