Your Daily Pentatonics is a 171-page book (complete with Play-Along MP3s) of creative Pentatonic Scale Studies that helps you increase your fluency in these commonly used shapes and patterns. A pentatonic scale is a musical scale with five notes per octave, in contrast to the heptatonic scale, which has seven notes per octave (such as the major scale and minor scale). Pentatonic scales were developed independently by many ancient civilizations and are still used in nearly all musical styles to this day. There are two types of pentatonic scales: those with semitones (hemitonic) and those without (anhemitonic). What is unique about this Pentatonic book is not only how comprehensive this HUGE volume is, but also the complete set of play-along MP3s with extremely creative, stylistic backing tracks for use after you have gained proficiency with these scales under your fingers. Erik starts you with 30 basic pentatonic studies, then moves to Minor 6 pentatonic range and flow studies, before moving on to 14 pentatonic "Groove" patterns complete with backing tracks. These studies really are unlike anything else out there, so I have included two full play-alongs below with sample pages to the left for you to try out. I promise you this: you have never heard a scale book like this! To the left you can check out the samples, and below you can start the backing track audio. "Your Daily Double Tongue" is not just a series of dry rhythmic patterns that you blindly play with the metronome on before moving on to other things. This book is as creative and energetic as you expect from Erik, with lots of twists along the way. After beginning with endurance patterns and scalewise articulation studies to get your fingers and tongue coordinated, you will move onto a set of articulation etudes that will challenge your fingers, ear, and endurance as much as your double tongue. Once you have passed the first hurdle, it is on to skillfully adapted works by Arban, Collinet, Alphonse, Paganini, Dinicu, Stravinsky, Rachmaninov, Sarasate, Bach, Krutzer, Kayser, and more. Once you are effortlessly playing "Zigeunerweisen," "Hora Staccato," "Moto Perpetuo," and Bach "Partitas," that is when you know your double tonguing game is on point. Don't miss a chance to improve little by little every day. You will be amazed at the progress you can make. Click to the left for some samples, then grab an immediate PDF download above.

Benedict Vansek's book "Arban's Daily Gymnastics for Cornet or Trumpet," is subtitled "the personal daily studies used by JB Arban, famous artist and author of the world renowned Arban Method." I give the extended subtitle because it is a perfect description of what the book is. It outlines a series of exercises done personally by Arban each day to maintain his facility on the instrument and keep him in tip top shape. The book covers Long Tones, Slurred Intervals, cycle of major scales, dominant 7th chords, extended intervals, descending harmonics, triplet lip flexibilities, cycle of major chords, chromatic studies, chords of the diminished 7th, then "Ancient Trumpet Studies". The whole set can be practiced in about 20 minutes and is a wonderful daily routine to get you started. Feel free to check out a sample page to the left, then grab an immediate PDF download, a print edition, or both by clicking above. This is a routine you don't want to miss.

August Johanson's Daily Exercises Opus 25 was originally published under the German title "Tägliche Übungen", but don't worry, any instructions are in German, English, and Russian, so not matter what language you speak these daily exercises will be a perfect fit. They begin with slurring exercises, lip flexibility, and flow studies, followed by scales, arpeggios, chromatics, and velocity studies. The student should choose a selection from each area each day as part of their daily routine to maintain all areas of their playing while having fresh new material to keep them engaged during each new session. A selection of samples pages is available to the left, and an immediate PDF download can be purchased above.

The idea behind Albert Mancini's Daily Studies for Trumpet is that artists become great because they think. A thought should be behind every action, and by thinking while you practice you are able to do the seemingly impossible with little effort. These daily studies cover a wide range of activities, from flow studies, to velocity studies, to pedal tones and beyond. A great addition to the daily study repertoire and a refreshing look at common issues in trumpet playing. Grab some samples to the left and get an immediate PDF download above.

To achieve an enormous reserve of power and a complete mastery of the instrument, you must follow a daily routine of exercises that cover all areas of playing. Harris' Advanced Daily Studies lays the groundwork for exactly this type of daily routine. Beginning with exercises for flexibility, tonguing, scales, and flow, these routines are meant to be memorized and played with concentration on the best possible tone production. Every once in a while, a truly special project comes about. Erik Veldkamp's Daily Beats Play-Along series is by far the most interesting and relevant release of the year. What Erik has done with Daily Beats is this: he composed a full length trumpet play-along solo, complete with both a backing track and a demo track, for every day of an entire month. On top of that, every solo is in a completely different musical style, taking you on a tour of relevant times and places to bring you music in styles you have simply never seen in a trumpet book. Styles include Samba, Reggaeton, Calypso, Waltz, Samba, Funk, and Mambo, for a start, but then things get VERY interesting. For the second half of the month you move into BeBop, Choro, Dubstep, Electro Samba, Latin Pop, Techno, Tumbao, Hip Hop, and more. It is actually hard to describe how cool these arrangements are without hearing them, so I have put a TON of free audio samples before, and included the first page of each of them in the samples to the left. Your purchase gets you the book of solos, plus a full set of MP3 backing tracks, plus a second set of MP3 demos performed by Erik himself. Give it all a listen and a try. You can choose to grab Daily Beats in two week sets above, or you can grab the whole month for a discount. I guarantee these are the best trumpet play-alongs you have played...possibly ever! This 460+ page collection of daily exercises written by Hyacinthe Klose, and adapted for trumpet by Erik Veldkamp, is an absolute treasure. Klose's book of 25 Daily Exercises was originally written for saxophone, and are absolutely essential for any player who is looking to improve their technique. In many ways, it might be the only such book you’ll ever need. The studies will enable you to build the speed and dexterity that you’re looking for, not to mention sound productions and evenness of tone. The original book isn't as in depth, and that is where Erik's editing has come in. These 25 Exercises have been adapted into every single key across all registers, which means you can pick a key and dive into your practice, or pick a study and go through all of the harmonics to give yourself a great daily drill. Other ideas:

  1. Use different articulations for each pattern and each key;
  2. Play them at different speeds. From Adagio to Allegro and everywhere in between;
  3. Practice them in all 12 keys (of course);
  4. Play them up or down an octave to cover all the registers each day.
