Johnny Warrington led a radio orchestra on Philadelphia station WCAU during the 1940s. During the 1950s, Warrington became a prolific arranger. Many modern-day big bands still use his arrangements, and qPress is re-releasing all of his flex-arrangement combo books for trumpet, trombone, saxes, piano and rhythm section.
This collection of Bb, C, and Eb books are full of Dixieland Favourites as played by Johnny Warrington’s radio orchestra, but arranged for any mixture of instruments you might have available. This is perfect for dance band gigs, background music, weddings, and especially for school groups that have a fluctuating personnel from day to day. Each part has a melody line, second and third parts, chord symbols for improvising, counter melodies, and all of the voiced needed to make the arrangements work.
To the left you can see page 1 of each book to understand how the arrangements are laid out. Below you will find the set list, and above you can find an immediate digital download.
