Robert Breard’s trombone study book “12 Transcendental Style Studies for Trombone” was also known under it’s French title “Douze Etudes Transcendantes (de style) dans tous les tons majeurs et mineurs pour trombone tenor”. These etudes are at an intermediate to advanced difficulty, utilize the full range of the instrument, and move fluidly between bass clef and tenor clef. Not unlike Charlier’s studies, these style etudes are meant to exercise phrasing, musicality, and romantic stylistic elements while working on your endurance and technique at the same time.
Since this is a little known book, I am including the first complete study in the samples so you can give it a try. Once you are hooked, grab an immediate PDF download above. You are going to love it!
