Théodore Dubois was a French organist, pedagogue, and composer who taught at the Paris Conservatoire. After winning the Prix de Rome, he succeeded Camille Saint-Saëns as organist at the Church of the Madeleine.
Dubois’ Fantasie is a beautiful concert piece in the style of a French solo de concours. Declarative statements, soaring melodies, and tender lyrical passages give the soloist free range of expression. This music is ideal for entry in competition, and this arrangement facilitates performance with a full wind ensemble.
Take a look at samples of the solo and score to the left and a sample recording below, and then click above for an immediate PDF download of the solo, score, and parts. You will receive a single PDF file with the solo, parts, and score pre-formatted for double-sided printing.
