Concertino for Cornet and Piano, by French musician Léonce Cohen, is a wonderful example of a classic French showpiece. The music balances lyricism with virtuosity, and is written extremely idiomatically. The solo part stays below concert Ab above the staff, but requires solid double and triple tonguing. An excellent piece for players working on the Arban Characteristic Studies.
