Carl Joachim Andersen was an acclaimed Danish flutist and instructor in the late 20th century. During his time, Andersen was in high demand as both a performer and a pedagogue.
Most of Andersen’s musical output was written for the flute but luckily our friend, brass powerhouse Erik Veldkamp, has adapted some of Andersen’s work for brass instruments. Here, Veldkamp has edited Andersen’s 26 Little Caprices, Op.37 to be played on tuba and other bass clef brass instruments. The music is virtuosic in nature, but sits well under the fingers and is within the standard range for tuba and euphonium.
