Petronio Franceschini (1650-1680) was an Italian composer and violinist of the Baroque period. He was born in Bologna, Italy, and is primarily known for his contributions to vocal and instrumental music of the late 17th century. Franceschini composed a variety of works, including operas, oratorios, cantatas, and instrumental music. His compositions are characterized by their melodic beauty and expressive qualities, reflecting the musical aesthetics of his time.
This Sonata for 2 Trumpets and Piano is playful and expressive concert piece. This edition comes with parts written for both trumpet in D and Bb, as well as the score for piano. The music sits perfectly on D trumpet, but the first part also works well on piccolo.
