Shorty Rogers, a trumpeter, bandleader and arranger and one of the earliest jazz musicians to use the fluegelhorn, performed with Woody Herman and Stan Kenton, among other musicians, and wrote or arranged music for a number of films and television shows. He arranged Leith Stevens’s jazz compositions for the 1954 movie “The Wild One,” which starred Marlon Brando. His arrangements are legendary, and in this collection you receive his most famous tunes in a flex ensemble arrangement for 1, 2, 3 or more musicians of any instrument.
This collection includes one book with parts for Bb, C, and Eb instruments (including bass clef). These also include chords and melody for piano or guitar accompaniment, bass lines in bass clef for trombone or tuba, and lead parts with counter melodies in each of the listed keys. With this extremely flexible layout, you can create a combo as small as trumpet and piano, to as big as a full jazz band with trumpets, clarinets, saxophones, trombones, and full rhythm section.
