Joseph Fiocco’s Allegro for Bb Trumpet and Piano is a beautiful example of trumpet literature in the classical style. This piece would be used brilliantly as stand-alone performance repertoire, but also as a character study to prepare for the Haydn Trumpet Concerto.
The solo’s range is between concert C below the staff and concert G at the top of the staff. As one would expect from a classical Allegro, there are fast sixteenth note patterns that require flexibility and dexterity to be played with appropriate lightness.
Samples of the solo and score can be found to the left. Take a look at the samples, and then click above for an immediate PDF download of the solo and score.
