Your Daily Hexatonics is a 89-page book of creative Hexatonic Scale Studies that helps you increase your fluency in these oft used shapes and patterns. A hexatonic scale is a scale with six pitches or notes per octave. Famous examples include the whole tone scale, the augmented scale, the Prometheus scale, and the blues scale. A hexatonic scale can also be formed by stacking perfect fifths. This results in a diatonic scale with one note removed. This elegantly organized Daily Hexatonic Studies book takes you through 30 whole tone scales and patterns, 25 augmented scales and patterns, 8 blues scales and patterns, and 6 tritone scales and patterns. By switch between meters, patterns, shapes, articulations, and styles, Erik gives you a perfect Hexatonic daily exercise set that you can drop right into your daily routine of practice. This listing is for the first in a 5 book series of play alongs in all styles for trumpet by Erik Veldkamp. We have published some of his more specific play-along sets already, like the great Latin Play-Along book, but this series is quite a bit different. Each book has a mixture of originals and arrangements, each tune is in a completely different style, and each book is a collection of solos appropriate to a specific level of playing ability. 20 Play-Alongs in All Styles Level 1 is meant for beginner players who need material to work on for fun, for lessons, and for recitals. The recordings you play with are lush but not overwhelming, making rest counting a snap. The solos themselves are almost all within a one octave range from C to C, making them perfect for players in their first year of playing. Below you will find a full list of the tunes included, as well as an example demo of Erik playing one of the songs. In fact, it is included in the sample pages to the left so you can follow along (and play as well!). Click to the left for samples, then grab an immediate PDF download above. In "No Limits," Erik Veldkamp covers all aspects of classical trumpet playing. Some etudes are written with flexibility in mind, while others cover double or triple tonguing. Your air control and range are going to be put to the test, and if you are playing with efficiency and control, these etudes will help you to improve your range so you don't get stuck in limbo in the comfortable middle register (as too many etude books seem to do). It's time to break the C3 limit in your etude playing...especially since you will be expected to do so on gig day. These etudes should motivate and challenge you to keep improving yourself so you don't get limited in your playing. A great quote from Arnold Jacobs was "never practice, always perform." Erik put this quote front of mind when composing these studies, and you should do the same while playing them. Check out some samples to the left, then grab an immediate PDF download above.

The Notebook for Anna Magdalena is a book of compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach that was presented to his second wife, Anna Magdalena, as a gift. There are two known folios, one from 1722 and one from 1725.  The 1725 notebook is larger than the 1722 one, and more richly decorated. Light green paper is used for the front cover, Anna Magdalena's initials and the year number "1725" are printed in gold. All pages feature gilt edging. This is the folio that these duets are taken from. These adaptations were expertly crafted by Erik Veldkamp, and make great use of Bach's two part writing by putting Tuba or Trombone on the bottom with trumpet on top. Erik chose 20 of the most suitable pieces from the folio for this book, including minuets, polonaises, and marches along with a healthy mixture of lyrical pieces. You get three scores with purchase, one with Trumpet and Tuba in Bb, one for Trumpet in Bb and Trombone in C, and one for both instruments in C. I have included the first two duets for free to the left, so give them a try. When you are ready you can grab an immediate PDF download above.

Your Daily Drone Studies (Flexibilities) is a play-along of daily drone studies that, once added to your daily routine, you will wonder how you ever lived without them. These play-along drone studies work on your flexibilities in a progressive way, in all keys, through 5 chapters of increasing difficulty and complexity. The best part? Instead of boring drones, you get extremely interesting, atmospheric, relaxing tonal drones in each key centre that you will never get bored of listening to. The pleasant aural landscape Erik has created here will keep you grounded and focused while working on your intonation, flexibility, and clean technical facility. Drone studies are the most practical and most easily accessible form of focused practice and it is impossible to recommend them enough. Below I have included the Bb trumpet drone and the C trumpet drone that you can use for your respective instrument with the sample pages provided to the left. A download of this book includes a full set of drones for both Bb and C trumpet, making it easy to jump around the chapters without having to transpose anything. Your Daily Pentatonics is a 171-page book (complete with Play-Along MP3s) of creative Pentatonic Scale Studies that helps you increase your fluency in these commonly used shapes and patterns. A pentatonic scale is a musical scale with five notes per octave, in contrast to the heptatonic scale, which has seven notes per octave (such as the major scale and minor scale). Pentatonic scales were developed independently by many ancient civilizations and are still used in nearly all musical styles to this day. There are two types of pentatonic scales: those with semitones (hemitonic) and those without (anhemitonic). What is unique about this Pentatonic book is not only how comprehensive this HUGE volume is, but also the complete set of play-along MP3s with extremely creative, stylistic backing tracks for use after you have gained proficiency with these scales under your fingers. Erik starts you with 30 basic pentatonic studies, then moves to Minor 6 pentatonic range and flow studies, before moving on to 14 pentatonic "Groove" patterns complete with backing tracks. These studies really are unlike anything else out there, so I have included two full play-alongs below with sample pages to the left for you to try out. I promise you this: you have never heard a scale book like this! To the left you can check out the samples, and below you can start the backing track audio. Your Daily Octatonics is a 78-page book of creative Octactonic Scale Studies that help you increase your fluency in these oft used shapes and patterns. An octatonic scale is any eight-note musical scale. However, the term most often refers to the symmetric scale composed of alternating whole and half steps. In classical theory (in contrast to jazz theory), this scale is commonly called the octatonic scale (or the octatonic collection), although there are a total of 42 non-enharmonically equivalent, non-transpositionally equivalent, eight-note sets. By switch between meters, patterns, shapes, articulations, and styles, Erik gives you a perfect Octatonic daily exercise set that you can drop right into your daily routine of practice. Erik Veldkamp's “Six Waltzing Duets” for two trombones is guaranteed to be one of the most interesting and innovative trombone duet books you have played from in years. The writing is tremendously inventive, with counterpoint that is challenging to play and absolutely brilliant to listen to. It is very hard to describe the style of these waltz's, because there is really nothing else like them. Because of that, we are including a few audio samples of the duets below so you can get an idea of just how great these duos are (they are played by Erik on the trumpet, but you will get the idea). After you listen you can play through some free samples to the left then grab an immediate PDF download above. Enjoy! "Your Daily Double Tongue" is not just a series of dry rhythmic patterns that you blindly play with the metronome on before moving on to other things. This book is as creative and energetic as you expect from Erik, with lots of twists along the way. After beginning with endurance patterns and scalewise articulation studies to get your fingers and tongue coordinated, you will move onto a set of articulation etudes that will challenge your fingers, ear, and endurance as much as your double tongue. Once you have passed the first hurdle, it is on to skillfully adapted works by Arban, Collinet, Alphonse, Paganini, Dinicu, Stravinsky, Rachmaninov, Sarasate, Bach, Krutzer, Kayser, and more. Once you are effortlessly playing "Zigeunerweisen," "Hora Staccato," "Moto Perpetuo," and Bach "Partitas," that is when you know your double tonguing game is on point. Don't miss a chance to improve little by little every day. You will be amazed at the progress you can make. Click to the left for some samples, then grab an immediate PDF download above.
