These studies are “Unusual” because they each embody one rarely seen element. It may be a 9/4 time signature, an odd-metre rhythm, a long denominator metre like 5/2, 3-5-6-7 ‘tuplet rhythms, and much more. There is something in each study that will throw you for a loop, and they make for great study as well as sight reading practice for professionals.
