Edwin Franko Goldman’s solo for trumpet and paino “The Rainbow (Gavotte)” is a 4:45 second recital piece meant for players around the grade 2 conservatory level. It is on a variety of exam lists nationwide and is a satisfying solo for a young trumpeter to perform and for an audience to listen to.

The grace note patterns give an opportunity to teach ornaments and different stylistic approaches for solos from this time period.
