New Orleans native Louis Moreau Gottschalk could easily be considered America’s first “Pop Idol”. While studying piano in Europe, Gottschalk became an associate of Chopin and Liszt.

This arrangement of La Gallina was done in 1998 for the Denver Gottschalk Festival by Gerald Endsley. The trumpet parts are demanding; the first trumpet is written for piccolo and the second part, although scored for Bb trumpet, sits very well on Eb.

Samples of the score are available to the left, and you can click above for an immediate PDF download of the score and parts. The PDF file has been formatted for easy double sided printing – just download and hit print.
