I have always been a huge fan of playing Bach on the modern trumpet. Most of Bach’s orchestral works are less accessible to developing players considering the extreme range required (not to mention specialized equipment). These preludes, arranged by A. de Herve for trumpet and piano, are a wonderful addition to the solo trumpet repertoire. They are idiomatic, challenging, and beautiful, and work well on recitals, in masterclasses, and at home for private practice.
