Schule Für Trompete (Complete) By Otto Friedmann

$19.99

Quantity

Otto Friedmann played trumpet in Staatskapelle Dresden with other great trumpeters Seifert and Hiekel during their hayday of the 20’s and 30’s. His Grand Method for the trumpet has been lost for a very long time, but qPress is thrilled to have it back in its perfect original form.

This method is broken up into two parts, and a purchase of this title gets you both books. In the preface he writes “The trumpet has long had its place in the orchestra secured. It has become indispensable to the composer, and, from the perspective of the audience, it has been praised for its beautiful sonority. As valued now as the violin and the flutes, which in the orchestra a play a leading role. It is, though, still more to the point than those, and so we say “Praise be to the Trumpet!”.

This truly is a grand method, with exercises and studies that take a player through all areas of study on the trumpet. By the second volume, players are playing in chromatics and transposing. Clearly the design of a famous orchestral trumpeter.

Only a handful of pages have German text, so don’t let it deter you. I plan on translating the bit of text that is needed this summer, so I will update this page when it is finished.

Check out samples of both books to the left, then grab an immediate PDF download above.
