It is imperative that the basic elements of trumpet playing are established and refined each day. The ability to play scales and arpeggios with precision and musicianship is one of these elements. These patterns have been composed in order to challenge and refine finger strength, dexterity and agility. Once a pattern has been read through satisfactorily, continue to practice it until absolute mastery is achieved. Use a variety of articulations and continue to work with a metronome in order to improve your evenness and speed.
