Joseph Guy Ropartz was a French composer and conductor mostly active in the early-to-mid 20th century. His musical style was largely influenced by Claude Debussy Cesar Franck. The composer’s Breton heritage and musical influences take centre stage in this beautiful solo.
The range is between low F at the bottom of the bass clef staff and high C above the treble clef staff. This piece has Lento, Allegro, and Allegro molto sections and has eighth note triplets at quarter note = 132bpm (or faster, if you dare).
Samples of the solo and score are provided to the left; click through those and then above for an immediate PDF download of the complete solo and piano score.
