Opera Literature from Mozart to Stravinsky By Heinze Reiche

Digital Download

This collection of orchestral studies contains the most technical and stylistically challenging trumpet parts from the scores of 29 contemporary repertoire operas and stage works, from Mozart to Stravinsky. They are arranged chronologically, thus showing the progressive development of brass instruments in orchestral repertoire and the constantly evolving challenges for trumpeters. If these challenges cannot often be met with the demands of the old concertante trumpet style of the Baroque and Handel era then specialized studies for each trumpeter in the modern opera orchestra will increasingly become an unavoidable necessity. These orchestral studies aim to bridge the gap between the practice material of academic instruction and the practical requirements of contemporary orchestral playing.
