I have been playing the trumpet my entire career, and have been using the Maxime-Alophone Etudes Nouvelles for a very large part of it. The funny thing is, of course that they were written for French Horn (here is the original 6 book set). I have always known that, but continued to play from them, displacing octaves as needed, because Charlier recommends it in his 36 Transcendental Etudes. The one thing I did not know was that they were transposed and transcribed for the trumpet!
