Along with the publication of Tabakov’s massive 4-part Progressive Trumpet Tutor, we are also releasing works by his pupils to show the wonderful lineage of his teaching.
Here you find Leonid Izrailevich’s 13 Etudes for Trumpet. These studies slot perfectly into the world of intermediate trumpet literature, with the added bonus of the incredible Russian lyricism that is so prevalent in music from this time period (and is sorely lacking from many other intermediate study books).
This book has a scant few high Cs and spends the majority of its time in the staff and below high A, but that does not mean the studies are too easy. They challenge you with increasing rhythmic patterns, growing intervals, a wide range of time signatures, and ventures into multiple tonguing and increased tempos, too.
