“How To Build Up Endurance in Trumpet Playing” by Hayden Shepard was edited by world famous trumpet maker Vincent Bach. These methods are designed to deal with the trumpeter’s greatest concerns: endurance, control, responsiveness, and consistency.
This book is broken down into three parts: Part 1 covers optimal mouthpiece placement, lip and facial muscles, soft playing, long tones, and slurs. Part 2 focuses on tonguing and articulation, striking/commencing the tone, and two types of staccato. Part 3 is fingering and scale practice. Useful for players of all levels, and must have piece of trumpet literature that very few modern players even know about.
