Victor Ewald’s Brass Quintet No.3 in D flat major Op. 7, is part of a 4 quintet series by Ewald that is one of the most famous of the entire quintet literature.
Ewald’s contributions as a composer reflected an abiding love for brass instruments for which he wrote four quintets scored originally for a pair of cornets (now played on trumpets), alto horn (now “French” horn), tenor horn (now trombone), and tuba (originally performed by Ewald himself). Now counted as No. 3, the quintet in D-flat was actually the last composed.
This beautiful engraving by Gerassimos Ioannidis brings these classic brass quintets to life in a clear and easy to read digital edition. It is perfect to read of a tablet but is also spaced with blank pages for a double-sided printing that will give you a score and parts with perfect page turns.
