Stravinsky’s Dance of the Ballerina from Petrushka is definitely one of the most well known trumpet excerpts in the repertoire. We practice it so much, in fact, that it only makes sense that this be turned into a solo feature with piano accompaniment. This arrangement begins with the dance portion, followed by the waltz, followed by the Ballerina and the Moor, and finished with the waltz again.
