Franz Strauss was a virtuoso horn player, multi instrumentalist, composer, conductor, and father of Richard Strauss. All the etudes in this volume have been revised and edited by the great Richard Strauss and Hugo Rüdel, a chorus master and horn player.
These studies for F horn are written in many contrasting styles and are sure to challenge you musically as well as technically. Many of these are based on motifs from the works of Beethoven, and by the time you reach the 17th study they are long, technically challenging, and requiring an extreme precision on the instrument.
To the left you’ll see that we have provided the first etude for you to play through. After you try it, click above for an immediate PDF download of the entire set.
