This is a great way to add a little lighthearted fun to any concert program. Honeysuckle Polka is light and charming, and takes full advantage of the trumpet’s virtuosic capabilities.

The solo part features multiple tonguing, as one would expect from a polka, but doesn’t ascend beyond concert G on top of the staff. The limited range makes this piece a wonderful avenue for intermediate trumpet players to enter concerto competitions and get the opportunity to play in front of a full ensemble.
