He beings with his 85 Easy Studies, then on to 26 Studies, and 17 Studies that move the player through early to moderate intermediate-level etudes. Once we get to this book, 30 Studies, and his Characteristic Studies, we are firmly into advanced level studies that demand a strong foundation of technical and musical ability.

These studies are the epitome of stylized Russian writing, and the bravura and vibrato rich tones of eastern orchestral playing should be at the forefront of your mind as you start to explore these incredible works.
