Seriously, that quote from the preface sounds way sexier in French, but this book is part of the first-ever complete translation of the works of Alexandre Petit for the trumpet. These studies are a treatise on style. Examples range from marked styles to dances, to somber, slow, and religious. Each is expertly crafted, very idiomatic, and a wonderful addition to our repertoire. This book has been out of print since the late 1800s, and I am extremely proud to offer it for sale on qPress, translated, and in its original form as the composer intended.

Alexandre Petit published a set of 3 etude books after completing part one of his complete method for trumpet. Each book is meant to act as material the player can use to apply the techniques they have been working on using the grand methods while exploring some new challenging melodic material.
