Roman Weichlein, or “Romanus” as he is sometimes known, was a composer of the 17th century that wrote a number of church sonatas, all of which included brass instruments. This collection of 24 duets for trumpet is a great example of his writing style, and the approach of writing for brass instruments of the time.
Marsall and fanfare like, these duets are brilliant and resolute. Think big cathedral, pomp, and circumstance. Definitely a great book to add to your duet collection. I have included the first two for free in the samples, give ’em a try. Then grab an immediate PDF download above.
