The Mel Broiles Autograph Collection just got an injection of new material and the findings are really impressive. A former student, Joseph Lorini, was handed three different collections of trumpet studies and duets by Mel Broiles while he studied with him at the Manhattan School of Music in 1974-75. Mel also recorded the entire collection of 24 Studies in the Baroque Style, and the complete recording is included with every purchase of this publication.

These 24 Baroque Studies for (Piccolo) Trumpet are a delightful exploration of the baroque style from the perspective of Mel’s unmistakable charm. They are stylistic and approachable, and are full of wit and spunk, just as you come to expect from Mel’s signature sound. Meant for practice on smaller trumpets, this set works brilliantly on any and all trumpets, making for wonderful mid range studies for younger players on big trumpets, as well as for high note practice on piccolo for those who are more advanced.
