Georges Hüe wrote this piece, his first trumpet solo, in 1900. The piece is a rewarding concert-piece for trumpet and piano, and is a fantastic addition to any recital program or jury.
The lowest note in the piece is a C on Bb trumpet below the staff and the highest note is a concert G on top of the staff. The final phrases of the piece contain extended sixteenth note passages marked molto vivace.
