This little known book by John Huber was such a revelation when it came out, that Herbert L. Clarke assigned it to all of the players in his Municipal Band. Clarke told Huber “I must compliment you on several new and necessary ideas both for the artist and professional player, including swing!”. Clarke’s letter ended by saying that “these studies are just what is needed for the high school player as well to improve his solo work, and there are thousands of them who need it.”
