Erik Veldkamp works as a lead trumpet player, member of the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, an avid composer/arranger,  and teacher of Trumpet Technique at the Amsterdam University of the Arts.

As part of his duties, he runs chamber groups through the University, which has lead to the composition of a series of books for trumpet ensemble at the intermediate-advanced level. These ten trumpet sextets are not only concert-length tours de force for brass, but they also incorporate rhythm section (complete with backing tracks) to take things to a whole new level.
