Jerome Naulais, originally a trombone player and very interested in music education, wrote several books for trumpet, many of them graded and progressive, which are perfect for beginner to intermediate musicians.
These short trios are great for use in the studio and in lessons for working on ensemble playing while keeping a comfortable range within the staff. There are no rhythms beyond eighth notes, and remain challenging and interesting to listen to without becoming overly technical. I wish there were more things in the repertoire just like this.
